History
Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church began as a Sunday School outreach of First Presbyterian Church of New Bern. Early outreach efforts date back to 1916. Originally the Sunday School met in the Thurman School. A second organizational effort was made in 1920. Mr. T.A. Grantham purchased a small frame building that had been built by Christ Episcopal Church in the Riverside area of New Bern. He had the building dismantled, moved and rebuilt on the site of the present Church. Although it is not visible, it this original structure is incorporated in the present sanctuary.
The Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church was organized in 1945. The original congregation consisted of 75 Charter Members. The first minister was F. Hubert Morris of New Bern.

Attendance grew over the years, and so did the facilities. The Sanctuary was expanded, and in 1957 the Educational Building was built. Many of the members contributed their time and expertise in its construction.
The church experienced rapid growth until the construction of The US 70 By-Pass in the 1960’s. Now Neuse Forest has the nature of a friendly, neighborhood church in the area know as “across the Trent River” from New Bern. Members and visitors enjoy warm fellowship, thoughtful preaching, and active ministry in the community and throughout the world.
